This is my son's 45th birthday card. Any card I make for him has a frog either on it or in it; it's a "thing" that goes back to when he was just a little boy.
I found this grumpy frog in one of computer card-making programs and thought it was perfect. He was originally holding a sign; I used Photoshop CS4 to edit that out and desaturate the colors. I printed it in pale grayscale and colored it with Prismacolor pencils before fussy cutting.
I stamped the sentiment using VF Onyx Black and embossed with clear ep. I diecut the border and adhered it with spray adhesive before adding the frog. The balloon was cut from cs that didn't quite match the stripes in the party hat; I colored it also to get a little closer to a match. I tied embroidery floss around it for a string and cut a slit for the frog to hold it. It was attached to a matching craft foam die cut before adhering to the card.
I filled in the OMG with Gelli Roll Stardust clear pen, and added Wink of Stella to the party hat and balloon. I think he's very representative of how my DS feels about his upcoming birthday.
As always, thanks for looking!

This frog's grumpy face made me laugh out loud!! If that doesn't make your son smile on his birthday - nothing will!! the stardust pen worked wonders on the OMG part of the sentiment, and I love the way you attached the balloon - looks like he is hating every moment of this celebration! Nice finishing touch with the washi tape. That is a reminder for me to start using mine!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
At least you don't have to wonder what you are going to put on his card!!! That's a plus!
