This card is for today's Color Challenge and yesterday's Clean and Simple Challenge. I like to keep my Sympathy card rather simple in design. I chose this bird and opted to put him into a watery setting. We are snow and ice bound here and I'm thinking that it would be lovely to get down to the lake and see the water moving gently against the shoreline and see some of those migrating birds making their way back up north. I think that's a ways off, but I keep hope in my heart. I thought this image would make a lovely sympathy card. I did add a fancy SB frame, and a knotted ribbon. Ribbon is one of my go to accessories. It is easy to use and always adds a touch of elegance or sweetness or fun. I really like these colors for a sympathy card.

Beautiful sympathy....and I agree with you that simple and dignified is perfect for this sad occasion. Your little bird is one of my favorite SU images and you have colored him so beautifully and made a lovely watery shore for his environment.

Your card has such a serene or peaceful look to it. I think that is a nice look for a sympathy card. I think we are all starting to think about spring, but it will be a while for us in the north. I can't wait until we get the hummingbirds back, but that won't be until May.
