I made this a while ago for Loll and she let me know she received it so I am posting today. Loll was laid up for a bit after some surgery and this was sent to cheer her.
This is the first of three cards I am calling "Playing with Feathers". On this card I masked a panel, stamped my feathers in versamark and embossed in gold. Then I stamped some "weeds" (Nature's Elements" from Tim Holtz and embossed them in clear to create a resist when I did the next step, I then used my amazing chalks from "The Stencil Collection" which I bought several years ago at a convention. The best thing is that they do not smear so they do not have to be "set" with anything. I took some pretty gold ink and sponged it over the tan/gold area's to give it a bit of shine. I then stamped the "Take Care" sentiment and embossed it as well. I cannot find the cover for the stamps at this time so I can't supply the maker but I will come back and do an edit when I do. :-)
This was my first attempt at doing this type of card and I was surprised I got it on my first try! I backed the panel with some pretty gold and then mounted on card stock to match my chalks. I must admit, trying to find the right shade of blue for the card base, took me over two hours and I finally gave up and added chalk to the piece I used to make it closer to the color on my panel. I was so pleased with my results that I decided to try using my feathers in a couple of different ways.
Thank you so much for coming by to take a peak!

Just catching up with you and your Feather "series" cards! The gold feathers and sentiment really stand out against the sponged BG and white - brilliant mix of colors. Bet Loll was so happy to receive this one - it's a beauty!!

This is gorgeous, Peggy! A departure from your usual style and done so beautifully. The sponging is so perfect over the resist "weeds" and I love the soft, elegant colors.
