Beautiful but very challenging colors Barbara! I am just getting into using the tube type water color paints and only own the primary colors plus black and white. What a challenge to mix what I have to achieve our colors, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Old Olive. I created the sky and water first then stamped the lighthouse in Versafine. I then covered the entire image, except the outline, in white to hide the many black ink details. Once dry, I painted the lighthouse using our colors. I then stamped the ship and birds in Versafine. Once dry I added a very light blue watercolor to the sails and a darker blue to the boat. I painted algae covered rocks to add more of the olive (some in the sky) and then added the crashing waves using white acrylic paint

Lovely card, Kate, with the seascape done in watercolor/acrylic. Like how you used the white acrylic for the spray of breaking waves against the rocks. Terrific masculine card.

Thank you so much for the detailed description. I too have just started using tube watercolours and I am finding it quite a challenge. The beautiful effects you have created on your sea scene give me hope! :-) I love the horizon line (does that sound silly?) and your sky. Wonderful card!
