Although this looks like the card I uploaded this morning, it is different. They are both valentines for my 2 teenage sons. They are 20 months apart, but people think they look exactly alike and always ask if they are twins. They are the best of friends, but the twins thing drives them nuts. For holidays, when I make them both a card, I try to make them similar but different. The similar part is my hang up... I wouldn't want one card to be better than the other. The first card had a grid design for the bkg, while this one has music. My younger son likes music and listens to my husband's old college albums on a vintage record player. I always ranked the MP3 player second only to microwave meals as the greatest discoveries of the past century. For the bkg I applied distress inks direct to paper and blended with a sponge. As I mentioned before, it did not turn out like the Tim Holtz tutorial. To lighten it up, I folded a paper towel, got it wet, placed it on a styrafoam plate, added a little bleech, and used a cotton swab to make bleech blotches. Both cards were very quick and easy since there was no detailed copic coloring involved. TFL, Francie

As always, your vibrant colours are just beautiful, Francie. And I love a card with music on it, so this is a winner for sure. The way the bleach has lightened patches of it looks just great.
I'm laughing at your rating of the MP3 player as second to the microwave - we still have and use the record player which was a wedding present.

Francie, this is stunning to say the least. I love the look you achieved by going back and dabbing bleach with cotton swabs. And I love the stamps you used against your bright and cheery colors. Into my faves.

I definitely noticed that the two cards were different but similar! You did a fabulous job on this set for your boys! I just love the rich colors you achieved!!! Both cards are fabulous!
