I haven't had much success with Bisters until I purchased some clay paper by WorldWin. They just floated on the surface and eventually created this mottled background. I accidently dropped the piece on a paper towel while still wet and it created some texture. Stamped the crazy bird on white paper, colored and cut him out. Fashioned a sign from wood and used SU Cheerful Critters to stamp the sentiment. I slit his wing after fussy cutting to slip the sign in. The clay paper did not stamp very well with distress inks so the branches are a bit blurry. The idea for this card was inspired by Susie Australia's card "Oh Hoot" which you can see here. This set by Tim Holtz is so fun to work with.
Thanks for stopping by.

How cool your "accidental" BG turned out on this new paper (of course, dropping the paper towel on it to create a texture helped a bit too - LOL) These TH birds are a hoot and he looks adorable holding his sign! The blurred look of the branches just adds so much more to the scenery!
Maybe your bird and Susie's owls will have to meet up ! Fun card!

I just had the best laugh out of the sentiment. Your crazy-eyed owl is just such a cutie and your bg is fabulous. As shown here, paper towel accidents can be a good thing. Love your super duper card.

Fabulous! The bg turned out so beautifully, and I LIKE the way the tree branches look. Of course, I love the bird, and your sentiment is so perfect on the sign. LOVE this card!

Your crazy bird is a hoot! LOL I will have to look into Bisters and Clay paper. Your background is beautiful, and the blurry branches perfect on here. Your card is wonderful, Nancy!

what an amazing background, it's so dreamy and hazy perfect for the crazy birds. I know how fussy bister and brusho are, but when you get the right paper they're amazing.
You've made me really want those birds, every time I see your cards they bring a big smile to my face.

This card just makes me smile ALL over! Your background is just amazing! The Bisters and how they work is all just a mystery to me but you have created magic with them. Did you notice the tiny heart that your background stamp created up in the left hand corner? You have an unintentional Valentine here! The glossy accents on the eyes create just the right touch on this wonderfully created whimsical card.
