I tried to stay as close as I could, but used an oval for WT515 and snowman is this week's CAS as well.
Being a new stamper means I can purchase some nice stamps off ebay, in used condition and this snowman set looked so sweet I could not pass up making a bid on it.
I really struggled with the paper selection, this paper is reversible and I originally had the other side chosen, but when I flipped it over while sponging the edges it was an aha moment and the lighter colored snowflakes really hit the spot... I am really glad I stuck this one out!

You say you're a new stamper, but your eye for design and coloring are those of an artist. Great choices, I love that snowman, too, and I agree with your choice of the DP...it makes it all cohesive, as Tim Gunn would say!
Because I am a newb at cardmaking, something like this takes me the entire day. I do have a vast collection of DP, being that I am still in that fun accumulation phase of the hobby. But I get soooo frustrated trying to make my vision turn into a tangible item. I tend to spend a day rotating through my planned projects and because of my very slow process it will take all day for me to complete 2 items and on this day I only completed this card, and had all of the elements cut for a second that I was able to finish quickly the next morning.
I know eventually I will be able to quickly put a design together, it will take time to hone my design instincts.
I have done watercolor painting for many years so that is the easy part

First! I love your card! You did a fabulous job on this CASE! I love your cute snowman. I should probably check out ebay! You chose a beautiful side of the paper for your bg and I love enamel dots! Great card. I faved it!
2nd! I read your comment and in May I will be stamping four years. I am STILL slow as molasses when creating! Most of the time I get only one project done a day, and I don't touch the house! I have a friend who sets her time and has a goal of 20 or 30 min per card. I wouldn't even have paper selected in 20 min! LOL!!! I too have a ton of paper, stamps not as much but paper, oh my! I am so happy to meet you and hope to see more of your beautiful creations!
Adorable! Your water coloring rocks, love your papers and layout. You really have a great knack, looks like you've been making cards for years and years. Can't wait to check out some of your other creations.
