Me and my best friend Kellie were looking for a card sketch that would work for a patriotic retirement card for my sister's significant other. (His name is placed above the "Army" sticker in the center front but not in this picture.) I had lots of items I wanted to put on the card but other sketches were not working. We found this card (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/485544403551642839/) but the link is broken and no measurements could be found. Kellie is nothing if not persistent. While I pondered other card sketches, she worked out the measurements of the inspiration card (see below for the measurements). Kellie, being the great friend she is, walked me through the construction of the card base and bounced around ideas about how to decide the measurements for each 'step'. This is what we ended with.
White base card:
1) 9" x 11.5" - along the 11.5" side, cut a line 3.5" in from each side. Start it at the 1.5" mark and end at 7.5" mark. Score to the cut lines on each side at the 1.5", 3.0", 6.0" and 7.5" marks. Score from the left to right edges on the 11.5" side at the 4.5" mark. Use photo for folding guide.
Back Side Sections Card Layer measurements:
White: 3.25" wide x 4.25" tall
Blue: 3" x 4"
Red: 2.75" x 3.75"
Middle Side Sections Card Layer measurements:
White: 3.25" wide x 3" tall
Blue: 3" x 2.75"
Red: 2.75" x 2.50"
Front Side Sections Card Layer Measurements
Blue: 3.25" wide x 1.25" tall
Red: 3.0" x 1.0"
Center of Card is 4.5" wide by 4.5" tall
Blue: 4.25" x 4/25"
Red: 4.0"x 4.0"
