Where I grew up in Iowa you would see the most gorgeous flowers blooming against an old weathered building, and I loved how the flowers significantly improved the look of an old building. So I love to make cards that reflect these memories I have. The state flower of Iowa is the wild rose so I chose this PSX Cabbage rose for my image to color. The image looked too stark on the white cardstock so I shaded in some light green and light blue to soften the look. I used a woodgrain stamp on the front panel and used the filigree corner dies to set off the image. I made this card as a thank you for a couple of friends who went above and beyond in supporting me through my breast cancer diagnosis, surgery and radiation last fall.

That rose image is gorgeous and you colored it beautifully. Wonderful shading and dimension. I still remember a rose that grew in my grandmothers yard. I don't know what it was and have never seen another one like it, but I have the memory. They are really special flowers. Gorgeous creation. :-)
