Tried to combine challenges but had a salt fail. Marilynn asked us to honor National Static Electricity today with lines of some sort on a mixed media project. I decided to try using masking fluid thrown onto a piece of scrap paper I'd used as a torn mask for sponging. After it dried, I smooshed the TH distress inks and some Coastal Cabana onto my acetate sheet and then spritzed liberally with water. I laid my masked sheet down into this and pressed to grab the color. I did this a couple of times to saturated well. I sprayed with a homemade blue reinker spray and also a shimmer spray.Even so, I had some areas around the raised masking fluid that had no color so I inked up a sponge and went around those directly. I rubbed off the masking fluid and added some doodling and spatter with a silver sharpie. I stamped my sentiment in Midnight Muse. I thought the red yarn had a definite static electricity feel to it so I added it with some blue twine.
This will go to my parents as my mom's latest cancer scans weren't great. We're all trying to fix our eyes on God and trust Him for whatever is next.

First so sorry about your mom. Saying prayers. I love how your static electricity looks. What a creative idea to use the masking fluid. That fiber is also perfect for static electricity. I am so glad you played along with my challenge. I hope that today God grants you and your family peace.

Oh my, sorry to hear about your mom. My mom has been going through the same thing and had another PET scan today. It's a tough road. You did remarkable on your card!! I would not have even the slightest idea on how to approach this topic. I love your card and the sentiment has always been close to my heart as well.

You've given me the inspiration to try this mixed media challenge this week. When I saw what it was I thought I would pass. But I could maybe pull off something like this. So sorry to hear of your mum's lasst tests. You'll be in my prayers!
