Happy New Year everyone! This is my card for the first Ways to Use It Challenge of 2015. Thank you to our hostess, Cathy, for giving us the gentle push to use our new or never been used products to create a card.
My card uses Masking tape that comes in a roll. I just peel the size I want, put it on my Big Shot and cut - Tada! My other product is Fun Foam that comes in 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheets. I cut the size I needed to back my 5x5 image panel. It gives a nice all around lift to your piece. This is a great backing for shaker cards.
I'm also starting the year off with a card for the January Love Lives Here revisited from Papertrey Ink. This is not a challenge but a way to re-design with an older stamp set. Perfect, because this is one of my all time favorite sets from Papertrey Ink and designer, Melissa Phillips.
I also took my inspiration from the charming book illustration, The Kissing Hand, by Audrey Penn, and illustrated by Nancy M. Leak. We all need the reassurance of love at one time or another. And little Chester is very unsure about going to school.
"Mrs. Raccoon took Chester's left hand and spread open his tiny fingers in a fan. Leaning forward, she kissed Chester right in the middle of his palm." ~ The Kissing Hand.
Beautiful words and a wonderful book for any occasion. A kiss placed with love right where Chester needed it. A lovely way to start the new year, or any day - giving our loved ones the reassurance that we are with them always.
