This is my card for the F4253 challenge "A CASE of Admiration" - Thinking back to your fellow SCS crafters, whose crafty style do you admire? Whose gallery just wows you! Who encouraged you along this beribboned, inky, embellished hobby with kind comments in your gallery? Today, let us know who you admire by CASEing one of her cards! Be sure to link up your inspiration so we can all see!
There are so many wonderful members of our community who provide love and encouragement, and whose work I admire so much - I could easily CASE a dozen. But there is one who particularly stands out for me, and that's Nancy (stiz2003). She takes the time to leave thoughtful and encouraging comments on almost every card I make, and we have become online friends. The card I am CASEing is actually the Christmas card she sent me, and can be seen here:
I have someone else whom I must thank for making this card possible. The artwork originally appeared on another Christmas card we received, and is the work of a very talented artist named Mary Solomon. She has generously allowed me to use her work on my cards. She has a beautiful online gallery at www.marysolomon.net. I would love for you to visit her gallery.
I scanned in the card, cropped the image and applied various filters and added the sentiment before printing. I will upload Mary's original image and add a link; I don't think she has uploaded to her gallery yet. I cut out the image using a stitched rectangle die to honor Nancy; her beautiful hand stitching is something I would never attempt to emulate!
I misted the image heavily with Sparkle Shimmer Spritz before attaching it to the matting layer and then the card base with Sookwang tape.

Wow, Jody, this is positively STUNNING! I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said about Nancy - her work inspires SO MANY of us, yet she spends so much time to cheer us on and encourage us to always take things a step further than we thought we could
Love how you used Mary Solomon's beautiful artwork, and applied your own special touch, along with inspirations from Nancy's stitching, layering and coloring!! Masterpiece!!

Thank you Jody for the kind words and for casing my card! What an honor coming from an artist like you! I love that the artist gave you permission to scan that gorgeous image and love the shadowed sentiment, a technique I have forgotten to use! Fabulous card!

Wow, this piece of art is amazing. So glad you got permission to use it! The birds are so pretty and the grasses behind them have a lovely soft effect.
