This is the best I can do for Dina's MIX100 Hue, Tint and Shade challenge. It's the first time I've used this stencil, so I wasn't quite sure where I was going with it. I started by sponging the solid shape with Mustard Seed. Then using the detailed stencil I outlined most of it with a soft black pencil over the yellow, and sponged gesso over it. That wasn't enough contrast, so I then sponged over it with white acrylic paints. I added more colour with Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick.
For the sky, I stencilled the stars with silver acrylic paint, and when it was dry, shaved chalk pastels in blues, purple and black over it and brushed it in. I sprayed with fixative, then added the sentiment and a black embossed edge. I finished it off with a few touches of Stickles.

Oh my goodness, dear Sabrina, this is the perfect 'puttin' on the ritz card, all the nighttime lights...totally beautiful. I especially love the contract of the night sky and the shimmery city light. Yep, this is a WOW!

I get so many good ideas from you, Sabrins. I never would have thought to use embossing on the edges (I stick to boring old sponging) but it looks fantastic on this card. Your city just glows...makes me think of places like Las Vagas where everyone comes out at night. Great mixed media card.

Wow what a jaw dropper. Thank you for the great description, as Francie said, I always learn from you. I bet this card looks even more spectacular in real life.
