I love making gift card holders and for years have used directions that I found on someone's blog. I went to get the link to insert here, but the blog has been removed, so I will give some quick directions if interested.
Cut cs 4 1/4" x8 15/16".
Score at 3" and 6" (which will leave one panel slightly smaller than the other 2).
With the smallest section of this long panel, cut off a triangle-shaped section by cutting from the upper left fold to the outer edge approximately 1 inch from the bottom of the section. (This creates the pocket that you will see in the next photo). Put a narrow piece of scor-tape on the 2 sides that will need to be closed to hold the gift card (sounds confusing, but see next picture and you will be able to tell what I mean).
Belly Band: 1 1/2" by 6 3/4" cs. Lay under closed-up holder and score folds so that it will wrap around holder (it needs to be snug). Glue overlapping section.
Decorate front and belly band as desired. So easy to make and fun to give!
