Jenn has asked us to make gift-card holders for the Box, Bag, Treat, Tag challenge this week.
Since I ended up giving my nephew some money in a very unsuitable elf shoe, I thought I would try to make something more masculine to have on hand. But the colours in the paper were perfect for this cute owl (thank you, Robin!!), so back to the drawing-board for something masculine to have on hand.
This is a simple matchbook - a piece of card 3" wide and 9 1/2" long, scored at 4", 4 1/4" and 8 1/2". I used tape to stick part of the narrow flap down, but there's still enough free to hold the front of the matchbook closed. I used an old ATC envelope with the end trimmed off, covered with DP, for the gift-card holder, and stuck in in, tucking it under the flap. The front was finished with some chipboard, twine and a sentiment.
There are a couple of matchbook tutorials in Resources, but for candy and for a Post-It note holder
