I was so impressed by Barb's (bmbfield) wonderful cards featuring the classic stamp set 'Lovely as a Tree'. The card I chose as my inspiration is seen here Lovely as a Tree by bmbfield at Splitcoaststampers
I tore two post it notesand laid them down as masks for the snowy hills and a round mask for the sun, and stamped parts of the large 'Lovely as a tree' stamp twice. After removing the masks, I shaded in the snow drifts and shadows of the trees with copic marker BV00 and coloured the sky with BG000 and the sun with Y02. Then I drew in the pond by hand and stamped the skaters and coloured them. I coloured the pond with BG10. Then I went over all the edges of snow with stickles. Where I had stamped the ground below the trees on the right, the stickles turned muddy (mixing with the ink) so when the stickles were dry, I went over most of the edges with white acrylic paint. It ended up giving a better impression of snow anyway. The pond was also covered with stickles...a bit of overkill, but it does look o.k.

You have crafted a lovely scene from days gone by here! I love the light in the sky and your sparkling pond. What a wonderful setting for your stamped image. TFS

Ina, I love the way you created the ice pond and skaters using the tree set! The vintage feel of the skaters combined with your beautiful scene make this so special!
