I've had some gilding flakes around for awhile and never really figured out how to use them so finally sat down on a rainy day and used them three different ways.
This method I learned at a local stamp store. I used a snowflake stencil made for me by my friend Loll Thompson. I stencilled on black cs using a piece of cut and dry foam with the Cosmic Shimmer glue. I removed and immediately washed the stencil, then added the gilding flakes and brushed off the excess. I trimmed it down, added it to a silver cardbase, with a piece of white cs embossed with snowflakes on the top. I added sentiment attached with ribbon to cover the join in the middle. It looked like it needed something more so I put three snowflakes punched out of the same silver as the cardbase on the top section, and added tiny shimmery round stickers to the centre of each punched and each stencilled snowflake.
So after spending a very long time playing with the gilding flakes and trying these three techniques, I'm not sure how much I will use them - I found them very time intensive and very messy!

Time intense and messy but SO worth it! Thanks for sharing this fabulous technique, Susan! This one is right into favorites. WOW, I love it. Time for me to hunt some gilding flakes too!
