For this week's office supplies wtui challenge. I lead a group of six hot-shot second graders with math exploration twice a week. They collect die cut (earned for good work) numbers that I've cut from scrap. For Halloween, I made spider bags from old envelopes, filled with velour black cat and glittery orange jack-o-lantern die cuts, plus a few numbers. This challenge was incentive for me to get going with a similar gifty thing for them: tiny envelopes full of holiday/winter number fun.
I printed their names on bond weight paper, fussy cut using a die the little envelope (office supplies?), and added the sentiment. The snowflake's cut from vellum, the three is velour, the 6 is glitter, and the silver eight is scrap from some junk mail.
"You've got mail." Indeed.

Love that idea! Your kids must look forward to this! I also love that you are working towards making math a fun thing and not the dreaded activity it sometime becomes in a school setting. Good on you!

LOVE this project! I was just watching the football awards. The Ducks quarterback won the player of the year. Congrats to one of his fans. Gosh he's handsome, and seems to be quite humble. Like that.

TOO CUTE! It's people like you that make Math FUN, that helps our kids learn mathematic skills---something kids are lacking in our schools today! Our son would have LOVED collecting numbers...He graduated from college with a Mathematician Degree! You NEVER KNOW what you are cultivating in the kids you touch! SUPER JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
