Mary is our Color Challenge hostess this week, and she has chosen a rich holiday-themed set of colors, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Early Espresso, Whisper White as the neutral, and with the dessert option of a tree on your card.
A touch of serendipity, the CAS challenge for this week is to have a tree on your card!
Some thanks here, first to Brenda (tessaduck) for introducing me to this wonderful tree set, perfect for any season. Brenda, your cards are so inspiring!
Next to Barbara Anders/Paper Pursuits for her on how to make a diagonal striped background with the MFT Plaid Background Builder stamp set.
I made the base of this card once, but the tree image, oh, 7 or 8 times! I made a variety of mistakes, most notable among them is that I discovered the hard way that the Wink of Stella brush dissolves Prismacolor pencil colors and water-based ink, resulting in a runny mess on my first attempt with it. I also learned the hard way that the snowman should be stamped first and masked, for ideal placement. And then of course there were the badly positioned ornaments, the poorly stamped ornaments, and the crooked sentiment! The eighth time is the charm! ;-)
Thanks for looking, and please come play along with us this week!

I can just feel the cool breeze blowing in this fun wintery scene. That background is the perfect pattern for the phrase, and it even matches the swirlyness of the font. That snowman is sooo cute, and the ornaments are colored just right! Darling card.

This is precious Barbara!! I love the tiny little ornaments, the snowman, that tree!! AWESOME card, sometimes the best ones are the ones we had to start over 8 times--yah, they are! ;)
Awww! I am so glad to hear I am not the only one that gets stamped images crooked and have to redo several times! Doesn't kill you that something that looks fairly simple takes multiple tries? Kills me!! This is gorgeous! Fabulous combination of challenges in this beauty!

This is such a fun card, Barbara! Cute little ornaments hanging from that flimsy tree and the tiniest snowman watching over it close by! You have decked the card out with a sweet ribbon and "dp"~
