This is one of those "story of my life" cards. I get an idea and try to make it when I don't have time....ending up with messy results that bother me whenever I see the card. Years ago I did a little origami, especially these 2 part animals. For some reason when I saw the CAS 300 to make a winter animal, I thought of origami. I forgot about two things that I had when I was younger that I no longer possess - patience and fine motor skills. To make matters worse, I wanted the deer to be small, so I used 2" square paper instead of 6". I have this Merry Poppins and her magic carpet bag kind of thing going with the coat closet where I keep my craft stuff. Usually, no matter what I need I can pull it out of there....so, surprisingly, I had origami paper. I die cut several ovals and layered them for Sabdina's TLC509 challenge and stamped the sentiment. Added some perfect pearls dots for snow flakes. Simple but frustrating. I put my origami book back in the deepest, darkest corner of the coat closet. TFL, Francie

I think your origami deer is very clever! We are so hard on ourselves!

Francie, this is just delightful! I love the depth of the layered ovals and snow. And I am in awe of the fact that you used 2" square paper for such a detailed fold. DH does quite a lot of origami and I have done a bit, so I know how taxing it can be. That is one beautiful deer.

So remember this Francie...this is SO superior to anything MOST of us could make using the origami technique that we ALL are over the top impressed with your results! Loved reading your details...and got such a picture in my head of your craft (coat) closet that it made me giggle. You are much to hard on yourself my dear....this is a deer to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
