This is a great technique if you want a quick card that looks like you spent a long time. It really took less than 15 min., however, it just does not photograph well. Even with the "one glitch" which required 2 extra steps to fix/hide, it was quick to make. Things that I have seen for this technique call for Tim Holtz metal tape...I have never heard of it. I used good old grey duct tape. Here are the steps.
Cover a piece of card stock, cut to the size of the image panel, with duct tape.
Dry embosd with an ef - I used a snow flake ef.
Drop alcohol ink over surface and gently dry with a heat gun.
Put a small amount of blending solution and blend edges. You can stop here and finish your card, however, herecwas the glitch and 2 fixes. The ink felt sticky.
I added some gold pigment ink to the raised areas then coated the whole panel with glitz embossing powder and heat set. This took care of the sticky problem, however, I am not great at heat embossing and I ended up with a few melted spots. The punched snow flakes are to cover those areas. TFL, Francie

Oh wow! I've never tried alcohol inks on tape, just paints. Definitely going to try soon, this has a real wow factor indeed. It looks like a rich velvety piece of fabric for patchwork.

WOW! This took 15 minutes again? Unbelievable! It's gorgeous. I've had that issue with alcohol ink, usually when I used too much. Brilliant idea to use the duct tape. Tim's metal tape is very thin like aluminum foil and tears when embossed. What fantastic texture by embossing it! Right into favorites, Francie!

Francie, this is gorgeous! Love the colors you used! I've had trouble with the stickiness, too, I like how you solved that problem!
