This is for Ky's fun mixed media challenge - Anything Goes - This is a mixed media card on steroids. Every mixed media ingredients I own is on this card....all because I started with water colour paper!!!
Watercolour paper costs an arm and half a leg here in Australia, so when the original gelli print turned to mud in front of my very eyes, I was not letting go. Can you believe that this started out with orange, yellow, red and green acrylic paint.
I quickly slapped on some distress inks, then added the molding paste stencil followed by a good squirt of Dylusions black ink spray. Drywall tape and chicken wire stencil were used to salvage some bad areas of the muddy gelli plate colours.
I dabbed on a bit of copper coloured Brilliance ink, added umbrella man and added a few choice words. This is going to a 96 year old man with a wicked sense of humour and always delights in telling me my cards are too girly LOL.
Thank you for looking....I will be back in 10 hours after I have cleaned up!!!!!

Susie, this one made me grin ear to ear! Kudos to you for keeping at it and the results are WOW! I toss so many gelli prints but you have inspired me to try and "save" them as you did here! I LOVE this! Only you can make watercolor look like metal! The texture is incredible! Right into favorites!

How fun and I am so glad you kept at it because this came out wonderful and fun. Perfect for a birthday where you are teasing someone about their age. I like the darker colors. I have missed reading your posts! Hugz

How to turn something "muddy" into something wonderful. Love the way you persisted until you were happy with it - and was able to create this perfect card for your 96 year old friend - he will love it I am sure.

LOL Love your "not a bit girly" card Susie!!! You have such awesome texture with all your different elements! Plus all those layers of color look really cool, even if a bit dark. I think the finished product is so perfect for your gentlemen friend's birthday!
