Loll Thompson's Twelve Tags of Christmas event has stretched my use of mixed media. I finally feel I've achieved some true mixed media with this tag - the fifth one I've done for her blog.
A friend lent me her Bister powders to try. I sprinkled some blue on the top half and some green on the bottom half of a piece of watercolour paper, then spritzed with water till I got a nice blend of colours. When dry, I stamped first and second generation trees in green. I sprinkled with Frantage embossing enamel and heated from behind. I added a die cut deer and Christmas star. I made a gold heat embossed sentiment label to ground the deer, and sprinkled some of the Frantage on it as well. My sentiment was off-centre so I added a small gold star on the left. Ribbon and cord finished it off.

Oh my gosh Susan ... this is AMAZING!! LOVE the bister powder background ... the frantage on top is gorgeous! The stamped trees and your reindeer make for a lovely, wintery scene. Great job!! Thanks so much for playing again with my Christmas tag event! Loll xx

Susan, I know exactly what you mean about starting to get the hang of Mixed Media :-) Your Tag is just amazing with all the textures, mixed media products and your gorgeous Winter scene. I Love it all. TFS my friend.
I am working on one now that is ....well, taking drying time!

This is such a beautiful tag. I love the Frantage and have never purchased it. I have to do that. What a wonderful scene you created.

You definitely have mastered mixed media, my friend! What an awesome tag with so many unique and interesting details! I need to shop for some of that Frantage. I love the look!
