This is my card for Tammie's Deer Winter challenge for the VSN mini.
I took the overall muted colour palette of the inspiration photo and, of course, the deer. It only occurred to me when I was taking a photo that I should have coloured the bird red to pick up on the red berries in the photo. Oh well...
I got this lovely Stamping Bella stamp after I'd made all my Christmas cards last year, so it's the first time I've got to use it - thanks for a great inspiration photo, Tammie!!
Image stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks - forest moss, pumice stone, frayed burlap and walnut stain, then sponged with weathered wood. I used a gel pen to highlight the snow, and Stickles on the trees. It's layered on a piece of card a tiny bit larger, sponged with Walnut Stain and with the edges distressed. I added some seam binding and two little LOTV sentiments attached with a brad - and decided to finish it off by adding some pearls along the ribbon.
There's a random prize of a 6-month Fan Club membership/extension for each VSN challenge - join in and you might be lucky!
Check out the chat thread HERE for more info. It's not too late to join in the Mini; the main event is in December!!

Love the bark on the tree, Sabrina! I agree, a little red bird would have tied into the photo inspiration perfectly...but the little blue bird is pretty darn adorable! Love your water colored scene! Glad you were able to play along in the "Frozen" VSN challenges!

This is beautiful, soft and muted, with the perfect image. The background paper ties in so well too.
