IC466, A Writers Passion: Audrie has opened up the world of fine fountain pens. I am lucky to have one such pen, hand blown from fine crystal with hints of blue throughout and a matching inkwell. I cherish it, and from time to time I actually write with it. I readily admit, I am afraid of breaking it.
I picked this pen, a Ruby and Diamond pen. That said everything for me:
I used the MB Textured Mesh stencil and glossy white embossing paste and added some red reinker to it. It started out too pink, so I also added color to the top as I was spreading it out and oooh, I love the color. I had to wait for it to dry, that always seems to take "soooo" long! I used the Cheery Lynn Poinsettia Strip die. I sponged the flowers with TH Distresss Inks, styled and added some diamonds to the centre of the flower, some craft trim and the MB Joy script die finished the card.
Thanks for looking ...

Personally, I think the pen is a titch gaudy...but your lovely card has a warm and happy feel as a Christmas card with the lovely layered poinsettia and the bg that has the appearance of a check.

Such wonderful texture and beauty...Great take on the pen! You used a lovely base card stock that adds part of your texture, and your mix of distress colors came up with a beautiful end result...between that gorgeous poinsettia and the amazing stenciled background this card ROCKS! Well thought out, WELL done!

Oh yes, you did a most gorgeous job with that beautiful pen!! That would be one I would probably never write with - but then what is the point?? I love how you turned this into a Christmas card. The joy word done in silver is perfect.
