Well I used an aqua painter and markers to color my cardinal. Then I decided to emboss it leaving the center plain. That didn't work so well. I've done it before but this time it just embossed everthing including the chipboard piece I put in to leave the frame center plain. I guess the chip board was too soft. So I used my bone folder and large stylus to smooth out the center of the frame. In doing that it stretched the paper out some and made it puffy. So I thought "why not take advantage of that". So I put a couple of layers of quilt batting behind the frame and attached it to another piece of CS with the rhinestone brads (colored with blendabilities so the would be gold). Then I added a bow and attached the card front to the card base which is also white. At least I did not have to throw away my watercolor. Even though the cardinal is not totally smooth, I do like how it turned out.

I love it when you get a fabulous design from unintended techniques! Pat everything is perfectly textured and the soft quilting makes your card worthy of framing. What a beauty!

My favorite bird to watch. He appears to have more feathers the way he turned out, Pat, and I really like the results! The fact that the embossing on the oval is much smoother than the rest of the card makes the outer embossing stand out more!

A happy accident! This card is lovely and the padding echoes the fluffed cardinal. I like the suggestion of the main background texture on the cardinal element. A lovely card!
