This is one of the cards I sent a couple of years ago. I noticed a few candy cane cards in the gallery this morning, and thought "Aha--I have a candy card, too." So here it is.
I used off-white, kraft, dark green and red cardstock from my stash, and patterned paper and light beige tissue paper from Hobby Lobby.
The candy cane foam stickers (Hobby Lobby) had just the right red glittery stripes, but the white stripes were TOO white, so I rubbed Putty ink from Colorbox on them to tone them down a bit. My fingers got Putty-ed too, but it worked just fine.
The greenery and red swirl candies are Martha Stewart punches.
The template for the "3-D" box is one I've had for years and have used frequently. I downloaded the pattern from scrappingbyalaine.com. It predates all the nifty die-cuts available now, so I had to cut each two-piece box by hand.
I labeled each box with the name and city/state of the particular recipient(s) to make them coordinate even better with the inside "Merry Christmas from our house to yours" sentiment in the cards.
They went through the mail with regular postage, even though they are dimensional.
