What better way to meet a challenge about binding a book? I made mine to look like a vintage (I hope!) book. The bindings are anything but vintage: I used washi tape. I also "bound" the corners to help with the suggestion of an old book. I stamped the floral image, then used a dark colored marker to do the etching with the fine point of my marker. Then I chose a coordinating color with a lighter hue and used the brush tip of that marker to fill in some more color using the same "etching" strokes. I colored the scallops on the oval, then added a little bit of shine with my yellow Glaze pen.

Love your vintage book binding creation. Great idea to use the washi tape for the binding.

I absolutely love this vintage, gingham-type feel! That patterned washi tape really blends so well with the other elements, it's a wonderful choice! LOVE your coloring of the florals, so very beautiful. This is just LOVELY!!!
Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my cross-stitched birthday card! It gives me such a thrill when I see that great card-making artists like yourself take the time and the trouble to stop and look at my card, and then actually leave a comment. It means more to me than I can say.
You are a very talented card-maker, and I look forward to seeing some new cards in your gallery. I struggle with making cards, I have a long-standing chronic illness and I don't get to make too many, but I am trying to find ways that allow me to make more because I enjoy it so much. But it's a bit stressful to make one when it's been a while, but once I get going and actually finish one, I am really glad I pushed myself. I don't have a tenth of the cards that you have in your amazing gallery, I am beyond impressed, WOW! SO impressed with your cards here!!!
Thank you again for your kind comment, know it means more than I can express.
