This is for Lori's fun HYCCT challenge, check it out here .
Lori asked us to bring warm colours with fuzzies. My 'fuzzies' is the sentiment - i hope that counts. I started by stamping Ginger onto the card. I then masked her (I made a mask by cutting out the image that is printed on the packaging of the actual stamp).
The background was produced using the Smack & Squirt technique....smack distress ink pads onto aluminuim foil, squirt with lots of water, then using a sponge, slurp up the coulured inky water and swish it all over the card. I also added a bit of pink ink blended with the orange ink. Using an eye dropper drip water here and there. Dab some of the water with a baby wipe, leave other drops of water to dry natrually.
Keeping the mask in place, stamped the background follige and sentiment. Remove mask, add a paper pieced dress, colour Gingers hair and tights with distress inks. Add mushroom die cut border - job done.
Thanks so much for looking. To see all the challenges to date check here .

Love your inky background. I might have to try it myself one day. I think you and I would have an inky good time if we ever got together. Great whimsical card.

Your Smack and Squirt sounds like an 'adventure' in color, Susie. Your vivid description of the technique had me picturing you, trying to keep the mask in place so Ginger did not also get smacked - love these warm colors and the way you finished your BG, as well as your sweet sentiment!Hugs!
