This is for Susie's challenge Heart Song where we were to use music and encouraging words (or birds or hearts). I had cut a guitar from a magazine page and coated it with ModPodge to use it as a mask. I laid it on my card, then stamped my music notes over it. I removed the mask then used my black Gelato to trace the edge of the guitar. I had hoped to get it to do some really good drips, but I should have prepped my card with Gesso first. Since I wasn't getting very good drips, I used my brush to pull some black down. I also laid a circle mask and drew black around it then filled in with the black as well. I put some Espresso acrylic paint onto some acetate and thinned it with some water to paint my accent pieces on the guitar. I added a bit of red Gelato to make my guitar neck. I used my markers and glitter pens to add the frets and string details (note to self-use a ruler next time!). I masked a bit over the music notes then sprtized with blue reinker spray. I used my finger to spread this around more yet still keep it uneven. I thinned the brown paint even more and spritzed it around as well and also painted some drips in brown. For my encouraging sentiment, I inked first in Versamark and then into Pacific Point. I then embossed this with clear.

Terrific mixed media card! I'm always so in awe of this style of card making. And you "rock" for playing in my HYCCT challenge, Heart Song. I appreciate your time and talent.

This is amazing. I really like all the depth in your guitar. You painted it so well and it is perfect for the challenge. I would have never thought of it.
