Bridget gave us a challenge to make a card for someone who was our hero. I'm late getting started with my cards for this wonderful cause. Hopefully I will get as many done as possible. I will be doing the cards in honor of my neighbor friend who just lost her battle this last Wednesday. She was my hero in many ways. We shared the love of flowers, and her yard was filled with hundreds of beautiful flowers..all different varieties. She fought a brave battle, with only positive thinking. Her son worked for us on our farm, and showed our cattle at the local fairs. She leaves so many wonderful memories to her family and friends. I was very lucky to have her as a neighbor and friend. It seemed fitting to make a card with a flower.
Each year I enjoy making cards for this wonderful cause. It was our challenge hostess who made me aware of this great challenge a few years back...thanks Bridget.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend ... it is so hard to lose those you care for and love. Your card is just beautiful!! I wish I could do flowers like this, it is just stunning!! Your friend would be very happy to have been able to see this.

Oh, Linda, I'm so sorry about the loss of your neighbour and what a huge loss for her family...this is a stunning tribute for her, with that gorgeous pink flower...I especially love the way it's painted over text - very classic and very beautiful! Thanks for sharing your heart and your art in this challenge, Linda, xx
Oh, Linda, What a touching description. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. This year HYCCT will be very tender for you. Hugs. Your card is stunning! The flow of the stem and leaf is as pretty as the flower. Beautiful.
