Today's inspiration challenge comes from Fine Art America, which is chock full of gorgeous artwork that is droolworthy! I found this section called Sultry Flowers, and I was inspired by all the white watercolored flowers especially.
When we were on vacation in Maine a few weeks ago, we went to the Botanical Gardens and I had fun taking close up photos of the various flowers there. One of them was white morning glories, and so using my photo blown up on my screen so I could see some detail, and being inspired by this awesome site, I decided to try sketching my photo as best I could and then watercolored with Koi watercolor paints. It took a while waiting for it to dry before going on to the next section or color, and I KNOW I have a VERY long way to go... but this was to challenge myself to figure out what colors I'd use as shadows to still give the illusion of white flowers. It's not as easy as it sounds! LOL!
So while a "real" artist would probably laugh at this... for me it is one more step in my journey in trying to learn new things and grow.
Thanks for looking and for being kind to this novice!

Wow this is beautiful! First, to capture the flowers in a photograph that is artfully balanced is a feat in itself - and then you match it with an equally amazing feat of water coloring! You go girl!
