Sheri has given us a fun challenge this week to cheer up Deanna from Alberta, Canada. Our mission is in the form of a Teapotter Intervention and makover!!
Here we have the make-up artists to the stars ready to lend a hand. They have loaded up the car and are leaving the city behind them, shouting "Yoohoo Deanna". Big Bertha, Little Bertha, Gertie and Flo met at the Teapotterville School of Beauty and Deportment years and years ago. Rumour has it they tought the Kardashian sisters how to walk, hold a handbag at right angles AND talk all at the same time.
About the process...I have a lot of single sided dp that I will never use so I thought I would try and make a background with the white side. I did the usual smack and squirt technique (smack distress ink pad directly onto aluminium foil, squirt with water, sponge onto paper). The sponge didn't go over the paper smoothly like it does on cardstock, it sort of gripped the paper and was hard to blend the different colours. I like the result for this card but I don't think I will rush and do this again. It takes a lot of ink which is a far more expensive than paper. It was worth a try.
The girls were stamped onto smooth cardstock, coloured with Copics then fussy cut. I randomly stamped a terrifc "buildings" stamp which was a RAK from our sweet Miss Kathleen Lammie from Alabama. I added a few reeds and a tree stamp (stamped upside down at the top of the card).
Thank you for looking and have a terrific week everyone.
Tip: Single sided dp that you will never use is great for making envelopes, the pattern is hardly visible on the inside of the envelope.

Another great card - and I love the accompanying story that goes with it. Teapotterville School of Beauty and Deportment - made me laugh. Dear oh Dear!! No I don't think I will give your smack and squirt technique a try - a lesson learnt. What a great stamp.

Envelopes, I have to do that too for about 7 lifetimes (grin).

Oh Susie, this is so wonderful as always my friend!! I love the bg with the colors you used and the cityscape! Love the variety of stamps used around the edges and those "girls" are hilarious!! They are certainly ready to give a "makeover" to anyone in need!! I'm sure they all learned well their art and deportment!! Heehee, I looked up that word because I was thinking it meant to "escort" illegals out of the country!! Good grief, I need to go back to English class!!
Well, I LOVE your card and it will certainly make the recipient smile (or LOL)!!
