This is for Edna's HYCCT challenge which you can find HERE.
Her thinking behind the "binding" theme was things family, volunteers, the breast cancer community and so on, that help bind things together for someone with cancer. I have to admit that when I was making this, it brought back memories of when our friend stayed with us after her op. For the first two or three days a friend who was a nurse came to change her dressing for her, but then I had to do it. Oh my, I hated having to try to get the old bandage off without pulling at her too much or causing any pain. Talk about binding!!
I used two bindings on this - the inside has 4 blank pages each stamped with a pink butterfly to symbolise hope. They are bound to the back cover simply with two punched holes and twine tied through.
For the covers, I started with 2 A2 pieces of kraft which I embossed with Tiny Mosaic. Then I sponged them with Frayed Burlap, and misted to spread the colour a bit. The insides are lined with a marbled paper. My binding is simply 3 Fancy Tags cut from Bazzill. I folded them more or less in half and stuck half of each to the back cover. Then I layered the whole thing up and stuck them to the front, which let me build in some ease to allow for the papers inside.
I edged them with a gold pen, and then decided to add photo corners which I rounded off.
The sentiment is stamped on a reject card front from my scrap box and edged with a gold pen.

You sure have one creative mind....love the little leather journal. It's priceless. The added gold is perfect for the vintage look. Fav'd. I'm sure who ever receives this will feel like she is special. tfs
