WooHoo it is Tickle a Teapotter time of the month and Sabrina has set a fun challenge to bring arks, a rainy day or animals two by two....I went with the ark. I found a great digi image of an ark and no tickle-a-teapotter card would be complete without a Sassy Cheryl digi image (no scars or bikes this week, but a whole lotta love never the less).
Here we have Noah's Ark about to set sail as young Matilda comes waltzing down the beach to see if she can jump on board - no-one told Matilda that she was supposed to bring a date.
The ark and waves is a digi image by HelleBellesDesign that I found online at Etsy. The boat was coloured using a Ranger distress ink, all the animals were coloured with gellatos and Matilda was coloured with my new Derwent Inktense pencils. All colour meduims were applied using an aquapen. The palm tree is hand-drawn on a textured card, then coloured with gellatos and rubbed with my fingers, then wiped in a few spots with a baby wipe. I had to do a bit of pruning to avoid Gary the Giraffe headbutting a palm frong.
I had a heap of fun making the background with Dylusions inks and water. I tried finger painting white fluffy clouds with acrylic paint...didn't look so good so I added splotches of modelling paste. I added a bit to the waves too.
Looking at the photo you wouldn't know that Leo and Leonie the lions have had face transplants. The colours looked wrong so I tried rubbing it off with a baby wipe, bad move..Leonie was a shattered mess and Leo actually had a hole in his head. I quickly printed another image, I didn't want it to look three dimensional so I printed it on photocopy paper, lightly coloured the new faces with gellatos then cut and pasted them over the top of their original heads. Sometimes I think I was a surgeon in a former life.
Thank you for looking and have a great week everyone.

This is SO cute and love the idea of the girl walking to the ark! Your surgery was obviously successful since I would have never known that it was a "fix". I need to master this technique! Hand drew the tree? You sure are multi talented! What an adorable card!

Love this - when do I not! And you certainly get the extra cookies for water techniques, I totally forgot about that and didn't use any more than just for diluting my distress inks. I love Matilda's matching bow and dress, and what I would call flip-flops but which I think you call something else (which would be ladies underwear to me). And your fluffy white clouds are sweet - even if they don't hold the promise of much rain. Looking at all the whitecaps on the water, I hope Matilda has brought some anti-nausea tablets or is a good sailor, LOL.

Wow!!! Absolutely awesome card! I just love all of the different techniques and medium you used. The arrival of Matilda adds so much! My smile turned to laughter when I noticed her arriving on the scene to hitch a ride! Thank you so much for sharing!

Oh, Susie, I was just now plotting out my second idea for a card, and was going to use one of your favorite characters, but to avoid being a copycat - I think I shall resort to my first idea after all!!
Love how you used the acrylic paint, and had to draw a palm tree, then prune it, and then become a surgeon with the lion's faces - I have tears running down my face, reading how this marvelous card came together, not even trying to ignore any bad moves, but always telling us how you corrected, re-attached, or went over something with something else to cover it - you are truly the Mistress of Re-invention!! Hope sassy Cheryl found a date and hopped a ride on your grand adventure - sure to make some teapotter VERY HAPPY!!

Susie, your cards are always so much fun!! This one of the ark is fabulous, and those animals are just as cute as can be! Even if there is room for one more, if she thinks about it, the noise and smell might be overwhelming, and not too good an idea. She cure is cute, though! Thanks for sharing your sense of humor and creativity......again!

SO fun. Crowded too, hope there is room for the new freind...maybe at least she can sunbathe on the roof, just climb on the sweet girraffes to get up and down. Now would this not be a super fun boat to travel with all these fun animals. Great job with the bg and its fantastic waves, sky and super shady green palm branches...def. ...A.A....( Awesome as Always..he-he )

Matilda better hurry, or she will miss the boat. Upps ,I mean ARK. Susie what a great card. Love how you did the sky and water and all the special effects with all the different techniques. Lucky, Leo and leonie had you to take such good care of them and to keep their heads on straight. Love the palm tree also. Actually I love the whole card, but again I love all your cards. Another big smile on my face after seeing this card.
