What a cool challenge Sabrina came up with! This one definitely got me thinking, and this is actually easier than I thought. I used staples to adhere the long Cajun Craze strips (I pre-colored the staples with a Copic marker to match the paper). For the image of the cactus, I cut the white square larger than the green one. I then cut out a frame with the green square and placed it over the white paper and then stamped my image.
I colored the image with Copic markers, and then punched holes in each corner to adhere the green frame and the white square to the kraft background. Sabrina said we could use glue to adhere our card front to an actual card base, so first I used a hammer (yes, a real hammer! LOL) to flatten out the staples in the back and then I glued the entire piece to a card base so all the hardware was covered up. :-) Thanks for a great challenge, Sabrina!

Aha - so that's how you got matching staples! I was wondering. Way cool idea to use the aperture frame over the white, it really gives the illusion of at least three layers. Thanks for such a wonderful and inspiring sample card, Holly.
