I never make so many projects in one week...and now my big job is to get the ink off my hands. The obvious part of this project is the stencils for the WT497 challenge. I used a checkered corner stencil with black ink, a leaf stencil with green ink and a spiral stencil with blue ink. This is really for the CT0914 "If you leave me now" challenge where I chose to honor "someone" who means the world to me...my BFF and stamping buddy, Sweet Dolly my insomniac dog. In fact, she is the reason I made this unplanned canvas...she came and got me at 3AM thinking that it would be a nice time for us to sit together and do crafts. I rescued her as a puppy 14 years ago from a high kill shelter, and she has been an amazing family member ever since. (She has only had insomnia for 1 1/ 2 years...which coincidentally is when I started posting on SCS). I found the challenges during one of our late night "parties". My son took this great photo of dolly a few weeks ago. She couldn't decide weather to eat the rose or just look at it. Dolly always lifts everyone's spirits, so I added the computer generated saying, "Advice from the dog...take time to smell the roses". She is even more beautiful in person. TFL, Francie and Dolly

Beautiful colors and what a wonderful tribute to your fur baby! I think people who never know the unconditional love of a pet are missing something very important in their lives. It's wonderful that you and Dolly share such super (albeit v-e-r-y early) time together.

Fabulous and creative card to honor a VERY special member of your family. It's wonderful to have such a devoted companion. (I'm getting older and don't sleep as well as I used to...so I have empathy for Dolly). : ) Your stenciled designs and the neon colors really work so well together to make a lovely frame for your dear picture.

Oh, Francie, you made me chuckle about getting your hands clean!! Been there!! But it was so worth it, and your precious Miss Dolly truly inspired a gorgeous card, and I'm so glad it fits this month's DD theme perfectly! What a beautiful photo of Dolly and a wonderful story! Yes, as I get older, I no longer sleep as well myself, so I understand! Hope you both get more rest tonight! Hugs!

Oh, Francie - how lovely to meet Dolly!! Your stencilling is fabulous too - I love your black block border especially, and the leaves along the bottom.

I just had to visit your gallery to come see Dolly. She is so sweet and the way you did the surround and background on this card is fantastic love your colors and all the different patterns that really work so well together. One of our three dogs is also 14, the other two are about 8 and 8 and 1/2. When a project doesn't turn out, I like to pretend they ate my card, rather then admit it might be in the trash, unless I can convince myself that one of them put it there. Our human children are grown and gone and there furry kids are the love of my life. One of our younger dogs Molly was also on the euthanasia list when she was rescued by another no kill shelter. She was only estimated to be about 6 months old at the time. I can't even imagine, how anyone can make a decision to put a dog down. You sound pretty special yourself. LOL. gail aka graffiti

What a gorgeous tribute to your dear friend Dolly!! She has a beautiful face. When I was younger, I first wanted a collie. As I got older I wanted a keeshound. I love the plush thick hair on them. I love what you have done with the colors and stencils. I like the roses you added to the real one Dolly is viewing. This is such a sweet work of art, and it is obvious that your heart was in it. :>)
