This is a Happy Belated birthday card for our very own DD Nancy! (stiz2003)
The base is SU Crumb Cake and I also cut one layer of the butterfly and the flourishes from CC as well. I cut the two layers of Spellbinder die at die club and don't have the name. Both layers are popped with dimensional tape. I didn't have any pearls to match so I made my paper ones, punching circles (from CC)and forming with a stulus on a pad. The trick is getting them glued down because they are hollow! The background and top layer of the butterfly (and inside) is all cut from paper I downloaded. I must admit I struggled with this and it sat on my desk for a few days while I tried to figure out its design...plus it was just to darn hot and humid to think creatively (more whining I know...) It is loosely inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. I wanted to make something special for Nancy and as the days passed it got more belated and more belated so I finally decided to finish this (instead of starting over completely) and get it sent off. She let me know she received it today so I am posting it!
Thank you for stopping by to take a look. It is always appreciated!

I love the rich embossing on the butterfly and this fabulous color combination, a personal favorite! I am not sure if the pierced oval and beautiful, lacy frame is sold as a set but it's gorgeous! This is so well done in your style Peggy and I thank you for this incredibly, well designed card!

Oh boy! Do I love this! That rectangular panel is unusual on a square card and really catches the eye. Love the scrolls to the side to balance it. Works perfectly! I can see you decorated the inside too. Your cards must cost a fortune to mail but would be priceless to the recipient. :-) What a classy colour scheme. Thanks for the tip about paper pearls! ...I could continue Peggy but lets just say I really love this card!
Well Peggy, you have done it again........this is lovely!!! I just love the thought process that you go through when doing your designs! I use that technique of making my own pearls too and you right...they are a little hard to stick down with them being hollow!!!

This so beautiful! I love the panel effect you created with the scrolls. I'm fascinated by your faux half pearls - an ingenious idea, but I can see where they would be difficult to stick down.

Peggy, I can't believe you struggled with it. You have an amazing design sense and you do wonders with neutral colors. Excellent layout and execution. A knockout card. Right into my favs.
