The Teapotters are making cards for Amy this week. She has leukemia and is going through some pretty heavy duty medical treatments with more to come. I wish her the best of everything and God's blessings.
Some of the things Amy likes are the beach, the Twilight movies and she has a dog named Murphy. I chose to make her a humorous card that features "Edward" with his faithful companion Murphy, on the beach at Twilight. Get it?? Hee! I hope my card makes her smile and laugh if she is able.
For the sky, I used three stamps and lightly sponged going gray over the white. (The sky is a bit darker than the picture shows.) To create the sand, I pounced creamy caramel with a sponge, added dark areas with a heavier hand. Finished it with a SU "dots" stamp. I stamped Edward and Murphy in the sand. Colored Edward's fancy bathing suit garb with purple/orange/green and gave him bashful blue eyes. Watercolored Murphy (who is a black Border Collile in real life) with going gray (a couple layers to get it on the dark side--heehee, get it?) I sponged two blue layers for the water. Lastly, I added twine.
THANKS for looking! Your comments are ALWAYS appreciated!

I think you got in all the specifics that you possibly could in this great card for Amy, Gabby!! Edward looks like he is having fun romping in the sand at the beach, and how you figured out how to make the "twilight" in the darkening sky is fabulous!! Thanks for sharing this with Amy - I know it will make her day!!

Hmmmmm I am guessing you are a Team Edward girl Miss Gabby LOL. Everything about your card is terrific and is sure to bring smiles to Amy. Thanks for the great description. The double matting and twine really set this off my friend. Love it.

Oh my, Gabby, you really rocked this and made it so special and personal for Amy. I totally love Edward and Murphy and the spooky sky full of bats. Well, not that I ever minded bats, I quite enjoyed seeing them flying around! The soft textured sponging and the moon are wonderful. This is brilliant!!
