I wrapped a strip of burlap ribbon around a wooden block and stapled it on. (You could use an acrylic block, but would have to tape it on.)
Another preparation I did, was to score a sheet of computer paper every half inch across the entire paper. By doing this, I made a diagonal grid to keep my stamping straight.
Then I stamped the wood block covered with burlap ribbon on the white card base with Early Espresso ink. I let this dry while I was working on the oval for the focal image.
I came back on top of the stamped burlap and colored the strips with Sahara Sand markers. Fun and easy!
The boot and the background base were both stamped in the same way...but used a foam shelf liner to do the stamping.
