I just can't get enough of this stamp set! I decided today to go for a frozen pond look, with a pink sunset sky. To make this card, I used the following steps:
1. Stamp the deer onto the focal panel, in the center. Also stamp the deer onto a post it and cut it out for a mask. Mask the deer.
2. Stamp the trees over the deer mask.
3. Repeat the process for the reflection, stamping first onto a piece of clear plastic and then flipping it onto the white cardstock, rubbing the back to transfer the ink. I flipped the deer mask face down for this part, because the deer was being transferred backwards for the reflection.
4. Mask off the snowy hill and sponge in the sky, starting from the top and working down towards the hill, from lighter to darker inks.
5. Rip a post it note and lay it down over the top portion of the focal panel, so that the torn edge creates the shore line. Sponge the same colors, this time working up from the bottom.
6. Color the trees and deer using Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip. Add a little Chocolate Chip shading to parts of the deer for dimension, and leave the underside of his tail white. Also color the reflection trees and deer.
7. Rip a piece of Whisper White and stick it down over the bottom of the focal panel to create the snow in the foreground. Trim down to fit the panel.
8. Mat the focal panel and mount onto the card base.
9. Add snow with a white gel pen. Color over the snowy hills with Wink of Stella. Add BG10 for shadowing under the deer and tree trunks.
Hope you enjoyed! To see 4 or 5 other cards I've recently made using this same stamp set, check out my gallery. I love this set so much I might never put it away, ha!
