Just a quick, bright card for the WT 496. Challenge. Believe it or not, there are rocks with these colors naturally. My sons were at a rock show in the local mountains and they brought me photos of these rocks. They come to life under black lights. They are formed near volcanoes and look dull until you put them under black lights. Anyway, this made me think of this bkg technique which then seemed to go with the chalkenge requirement to imitate stone. I spreyed glossy cardstock with water and dripped the adirondack reinkers randomly. Blotted and added more ink. Stamped silhouette flowers first with stsyz on black for a bit of depth (actually it just didn't show up very well, but I decided to pretend that I planned it that way) then used black pigment ink and heat embossed. Outlined the flowers with white gel pen and added the bow. TFL, Francie

Francie - I've seen the rocks you're talking about and they do look like this GORGEOUS card! I love what you do with color and the white outlike on this looks like the light is shining all around the images.

I love those bright colours! DH was just showing me some photos of one of the volcanic Greek islands and saying how colourful some parts of it are - and how photogenic and maybe we should take a trip there some time. The black against the polished stone looks just wonderful. I'm glad to hear that it's not just me who has trouble getting a good clear impression stamping on the polished stone, though! I even bought Rangers Archival Black after reading it was the best for this, but I can't say I found it any better than StazOn. So like you, most of the time what I stamp is what I get - and if I know in advance that I really, really want a good solid impression I use a stamp positioner and stamp twice!
