The instructions I saw was to fold the doily in half then wrap around to make the layers, instead I did the back and forth fold and I think I like the way it layered better, but I did need double sided tape to hold the edges down. I put on the stickles, when dry lifted the layer a little to give a some depth. For a first try I liked the outcome.

I watch the cooking channels a lot, and they would call this a "deconstructed" tree (the elements are taken apart). I love the look - as if the tree is radiating color. And all that was my impression before I looked closely enough to see that the tree is really a doily - oh my goodness! I love the Stickles on the tree, and the star brad makes a perfect tree topper. TYFS!

Brilliant! I never thought to use this on a doily - it makes perfect sense and is beautiful!!! This certainly made it to the favs list!!
