When your mojo has faded because of the extreme heat, the SCS challenges always save the day...this card almost made itself. With DH still out of work we are trying not to use the air conditioning. Since it is 100 in Southern Calif. today, my creativity has deserted me. I started with the challenge colors which led me to use copics, prisma pencils and distress inks. By combining all three I had a good approximation of all the challenge colors. Then I turned to the SC which called for a rectangle main image stamp. Like a moth drawn to a flame, these very complex stamps seem to attract me. By the time I am a third of the way through coloring it I am asking myself the same 2 questions..."what was I thinking?" and "are you crazy?" Finally, the WT challenge to use marble, stone etc. materials used in monuments reminded me that I have a 3 step marble cube that I have never used. The pink and rust challenge colors reminded me of the peach colored marble in my parents bathroom when I was a kid (very progressive colors for the early 1960's). I had to stamp the cube 3 times veryically and 3 times horizontally to get a large enough piece of paper for the bkg. Since this is a 3 step stamp, that is 3 x 6, or 18 repititions to get the marble bkg. This card should only be made when you have an abundance of patience and time. Considering that I have neither it is a good thing that I am happy with the results. Otherwise I might have pitched a fit to rival any 2 year old. TFL, Francie

You actually had a marble stamp! How cool - and it looks great too. You colour your detailed stamps so beautifully, Francie. I love the way you've carried the grid onto the panel behind the main image panel. And your little flowers are so beautiful.
Air-con isn't normal here because, let's face it, in our climate we don't really need it. At least, not in ordinary residential circumstances. Since I craft in an attic with 3 skylights, and in the summer the heat can soar up into the eighties on a sunny day, I do feel for you. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be much hotter. And, LOL, I do know that most of this summer I crafted in the skimpiest t-shirt and shortest shorts I could find .

WOW! This is incredibly gorgeous and I do believe you have more patience than you think! Coloring takes forever and yours is impeccable! Love that sketch with it too! I can't imagine 100! We only had about two weeks in the 80's and we whined about that! I feel so bad for those of you in the intense heat. And you were able to create this masterpiece in spite of it!
Oh Francie this definitely gets a fave from me. First I was struck by the pretty colors, layers and design but then I read that you stamped the BG 18 times IN.THE.HEAT. Well that gets a fave for sure! Your bg looks flawless, I would have thought it was one large bg stamps! I honestsly don't know how you are holding out without AC. It's been in the 90's and I had to sit in the car and wait while my DD had various activities and I had to turn the car back on several times because I was dripping, I can't imagine going without AC. I won't hug you...I know you are too hot for that!!!

Wow, this is just gorgeous, Francie, the magnificent colour combo first caught my eye but all the lovely detail - your marble bg (you have more patience than me!) looks amazing, your colouring with the copics and pencils incredible and I really love your sweet flowers!!

Francie, this is amazing. The colors are so brilliant, and your image colored to perfection. No loss of mojo here at all. Hope it cools off soon, and that your husband will soon be back to work too.
