This is for the Baker's Dozen Monthly Challenge. For September, the envelope came from Krista, who just moved near the mountains. Her challenge is about mountains (chevron design) and doing something out of your comfort zone or new. I made this card for our son who went to college at the local university. Upon graduation, he moved out of state for a job. It's definitely new for me to mail a card to him. I've made him cards for birthday, graduation, etc..., but they were always hand-delivered. Now, I have to keep in mind to make his cards flat and "mail-able". The chevron "mountain" pattern is also new for me to work with. Even though it's so popular, I haven't worked with it much. This chevron patterned paper that came in Krista's envelope does seem work well for a masculine card. I contributed the card base and the punched stars. The star punch is new to me. I popped the stars up as accents; they are a good choice for the chevron pattern. It's out of my comfort zone to focus on a neutral color. I usually choose colors for emphasis, but I didn't have that shade of green. I must say that I like the gray stars for a masculine card. Lastly, I decorated the inside of the card with scraps of paper and punched stars. I have done that before, but it's somewhat new to me. It is a challenge to remember to think about decorating the inside of the card beyond stamping an inside sentiment. This kit did inspire me out of my comfort zone. It's always good to be challenged to do something new. TFL
Thanks Krista! I enjoyed making this card from your challenge envelope.

You did a great job on the card! It does lend itself to being a masculine layout and card. I think your DS will just love it!!! One it's from you and the other is being away from home and getting "happy mail" will brighten his day!
