Really fun Mixability Challenge today! We are using crayons first then spritzing over them. Ky has us using bright crayons first then a darker spray over the top. After seeing the awesome samples, I decided to go with an ef to direct my coloring. I started with watercolor paper that I embossed with the Bamboo ef. I used the side with the stems raised and the leaves debossed. I colored with multiple greens both the raised and lowered parts of the embossing leaving blank the areas between the stems. (Photos on my blog so you can see what I'm talking about better!) I then sprayed over the whole piece. I rubbed off the extra ink. I wanted some blue between the stems so I smooshed my distress ink on acetate and wet it with water. I used my paintbrush to add the blue. I also spattered some blue at the end. I had the piece of placemat sitting on my desk. It has a bit of bronze sharpie spatter on it (never shake a sharpie without the lid on!). I wrapped with some twine and poked my earring through. This is popped over the panel on foam circles. I used two markers to ink up only this sentiment and stamped on So Saffron. I punched with the Word Window and then spritzed this piece too. I tried a direct spritz first but it was too much so then I sprayed into the air and waved the sentiment through.
Really fun technique to try....join the challenge!!!

Thanks for the great description. It helps those of us who are not so educated. It turned out to be a lovely card - I really like the effect you got on the bamboo. The placemat is a perfect complement and also makes a great vehicle for the earring charm. Lovely!

Cool idea to use the folder as a starting point, Gail. I contemplated using a stamp stamped very pale, LOL - but decided to be brave and freehand it. A place-mat and an old earring - great recyling!

Wow! Great twist on the technique, and I love the idea of repurposing an earring. I have a couple who've lost their mates. Possibilities! Just beautiful, Gail! Thanks for playing!
