Today's WT challenge is "Make It Monumental" -- we were to use granite, marble or stone on our cards. I love the Polished Stone technique, so that's what I did for my background. In contrast to the "hardness" of the stone, I used a soon-to-be-released set from Mark's Finest Papers called Chrysanthemum, which has two very frilly flowers on it. I fussy-cut the chrysanthemum so you could see the background in the empty spaces between the petals when I glued it down to the card.

I don't know about the polished stone technique - I will have to go look it up - but I love the results! And to have the patience to fussy-cut a chrysanthemum - wow! The card is well worth the effort.

The colour of your stone reminds me very much of the green marble that is quarried in a particular area in the west of Ireland. And it makes a lovely setting for that gorgeous autumnal chrysanthemum.

Lois, this is a stunning card! I love your polished stone in green. I did one in blues. Your flower is exceptional with all that cutting.
