I quote Michelle, today's WT hostess: "September 11th is a day that is now synonymous with the tragic events that occurred in 13 years ago on the East Coast of the US. This week's challenge is inspired by the heroes that emerged from the rubble of that fateful day.
To honor our heroes, we erect monuments and statues. To ensure those tributes last, we make them out of stone, granite, marble, and other hardened products that will stand the test of time, so that we never forget these great men and women who have inspired and sacrificed for us.
For this challenge, I want you to use granite, marble, or stone in your project"
I knew immediately I was going to do the polished stone....however.....when I went to get my alcohol, I remembered that Ms. Laynee had gotten her ears pierced and I gave the alcohol to her for her ears! I had to resort to the internet and searched out marble images and found the marble I used.
Also for CCEE1437 - Lois carries on as hostess and this week, she wants us to use an odd number of the same embellishment on our cards. I used three rhinestone sticker embellishment and then added two sequins. So take your pick, 3 sticker embellies or 5 counting the sequins!!!
I love this Sizzix stand up die.
Raining here...going to the movie....hope you have a good day!
I AM GOING TO DO A SURVEY....IT ASTOUNDS ME HOW MANY PEOPLE OPEN CARDS W/O COMMENTING...I FIGURE IF YOU OPEN IT, COMMENT...AND I'M NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT MY CARDS, BUT FAR SUPERIOR STAMPERS. SO, TODAY'S TOTAL BEFORE ANYONE COMMENTED IS.....48

You found some great marble to use a substitute for the polished stone - and I love your flower vase. That looks like a great die for the base!
I'll be interested to see how your survey goes! I just happened to get a comment the other day on a card that I made for my half-sister's birthday in July and didn't tag for any challenge - it was only the second comment, but over 1000 views.

What a beautiful stand up card Vicky. It even has the look of a monument!!
IKWYM concerning your survey... how about favoriting a card with out commenting!! That one really gets me. I've often thought this very same thing - if you open it why can't you comment?!
