This is my sample for an upcoming tutorial - I'll fill in more details when things go live!
My focal panel is a gel print that was done using kids' plastic texture plates and acrylic paint. I cut the die from the panel, then backed the entire panel and opening with a double-sided adhesive sheet from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
Instead of replacing the full die cut, I just replaced two of the layers. To get them into place, I inserted them back into the die one at a time, aligned the die with the negative cut, then pressed the pieces into the adhesive. I rubbed ECD's Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter into the exposed adhesive areas to finish off the layer. Sooooo very sparkly!
I'll have more info on my blog tomorrow, including a really messy die cut disaster!
