For today's Gettin' Ready for the Harvest Dance Tickle challenge brought to us this month by Wendy.
Sorry - this is the one week since I don't know when, when I am out two nights more than usual and ALL my only day off. So this is a quick card pulled together from various bits of inspiration. We've had heavy winds here and the leaves are down all over the place - I picked one up in town this morning that is over a foot across. It seems to me that if the little mice in that cute musical teapot were helping the girls to sew a dress, they'd use what materials were to hand, so they have sewn a very pretty skirt made out of die-cut leaves .
The dress form is paper layered onto a cereal box and cut out. I stuck the leaves on and then wrapped the lace round, sticking it at the back. I also added a little heart pendant, sticking the silver cord on the back. Stitched round the edges of the DP which helps hold the skeleton leaf down. I added some buttons and a spool of twine cut with the same TH die as the dress form.
Sorry I didn't have time to stamp and colour something with a pretty dress, but I'm pretty happy with how this came out. It has a sort of Tinkerbell/Peter Pan feel to it, don't you think?

Wow, Sabrina, I think this is a wonderful interpretation of "harvest dance." I like the skirt made of leaves and lace, and I really like how the leaf theme gets carried out through the background paper and embellishments. Yes, I can imagine those little mice crafting up this outfit.

I love this dress form with the skirt of leaves, what a beautiful idea, Sabrina! I may just have to borrow this idea. So what did you do with that leaf that's almost a foot across? Hmm, you have my creative mind working on what could be done with it.
Anyhow, your card is a seamstress' delight, the dress of leaves are perfect for the Harvest Dance!

Thanks so much for joining us still , even with the little time you had. This one sure woulnd't have been quick for me...lol. Its adorable, and I agree with the country peter-pan feel. Love all the ideas you put together and i can not imagine that huge leaf that started it all. Super Idea of using a part of a cereal box...awesome job to re-use. It is so cute how you even have the thread there and buttons, even adorned our dress with a sparkly heart necklace to complete this sweet outfit....right on girl...and you are welcome for the story, was fun...HUGS my friend.

Lots of fun layering. The leaves really make a cute skirt and a great way to carry through the fall theme of your sentiment and the other card elements.

After studying, admiring and saving to My Favs, I read your description. You made this in a hurry???? On my gosh Sabrina, is it any wonder I have you on a pedestal 10' high. Everything about your card is wonderful. I can't wait to see what you do with the huge leaf.
